I am the daughter of an Engineer and an Artist. Both my grandmothers were experts at the Peaceful Arts: sewing, knitting, crochet, embroidery, cooking. I am always happiest when making things.
Professionally, I am a Technical Writer and Graphic Designer and through the wonders of modern technology I have been able to meld these skills with my love of textiles. I design and produce modern fabric goods including Modern Prayer Flags, Artful Knapsacks, The New Jersey Full Moon Calendar, Tapestry Wall Panels, Tapestry Bags, and Chiffon Scarves, as well as fabrics that can be purchased by the yard and print-on-demand items (see my Links page).
I am intrigued by the idea of prayer flags that send our petitions out to the universe. While traditional Tibetan prayer flags were often block-printed on paper and contained intricate drawings and extensive text, my prayer flags are modern & simple & are digitally printed on fabric.
The name jerseymurmurs comes from my location (New Jersey) and the belief that prayer flags (and our petitions) -- and any creative venture -- continuously produce a low, rushing sound — a murmur.
